I was looking for something that I could take around our property and use while walking the dogs. It does very well in the yard and even in our fields so long as it isn't too muddy. We live on a dead end gravel road. No stroller rides smoothly on gravel, but this is the best we have ever had. We have gone through several strollers with our seven children but this one seems to be able to handle whatever country life can dish out. The adjustable handle is a great plus because not only is my husband very tall and myself quite short, our kids are of various heights as well. My six year old can even push the stroller when it is on the gravel roads!

I cannot rate this stroller as a true jogging stroller (because I am not a runner), but I can say that sometimes we run a bit with the dogs and the baby loves the jiggle our jogging produces. Let me qualify though that the jiggle is not bone jarring! I also cannot rate this stroller for indoor use or paved roads, having not taken it to either.

I was tickled to know that my aluminum frame will not rust, as we will be out in all sorts of weather. The canopy is fully adjustable and works well as a mild windbreak also. It is a bit awkward to fold and set up; I do many tasks one-handed with baby in arms, but this is one task I must use both hands for. I have read complaints about the seat not being comfortable nor fully adjustable for sitting up. I have not had trouble with this. I was more concerned to find a stroller that fully reclined for naps rather than worrying about it being fully upright. Babies and toddlers that can sit up won't have a problem sitting up in this stroller if they choose.

As an aside, even the dogs get excited when they see the stroller because they know it is time for a walk.

We think our Schwinn Freewheeler stoller was a great buy! We are hopeful that it will stand the test of time and a large family better than others we have suffered through!

I got this stroller to help me get back into shape. I didn't want to spend a ton of money, but I wanted a good product. This stroller is great. It's a smooth ride and I can either lock or swivel the front wheel. The canopy unsnaps and moves to help protect my son from the sun. I really like that feature. I'm 5'0 and my husband is nearly 6 feet and with the adjustable handle it accomadates us both. The cons are that the stroller is a bit heavy and when folded is still a bit cumbersome. The seat when in the upmost position is still reclined a bit more than I would prefer, but my son seems to be adjusting to it, so its working for us. You could also easily fix this with a blanket or pillow - not a big deal.

I researched strollers night and day before I decided on this Schwinn. It has a very smooth ride and is light weight but sturdy too. It definitely does the job I intended on it doing. I wish it locked when folded and also maybe stood on its own. If it is not in the car it is an awkward piece to store. I end up leaving it unfolded and standing in the garage. I don't know a jogger that locks or stands on its own for that matter. I would do it all over again.

Very servicable

We use this stroller for trail walks in the woods. It is perfect for such a use. The tires are wide so it doesn't get stuck in the mud and the wheel diameter is large so it handles rocks and roots smoothly. However, it is a bit bulky to always keep in the SUV for daily use.

The only drawback is that the recline adjustment on the seat is difficult re-position and it never gets quite upright enough.

I needed a jogging stroller and this one is great. The canopy adjusts just by unsnapping it and moving it back and forth and it is big so you really don't have to worry about the sun. It has a smooth ride and its light to push. The two down sides for me is that even in the most upright position it is still too reclined for my son, but that can be easily fixed by adding a pillow or blanket behind him. Its also a little bulky when folded, but you get that with any big strollera. I love this stroller. Wouldn't want anything else.

Love everything about the stroller except the seat needs to sit up more. There are solutions to this con, for example, a pillow behind your child works great.

I am on child number 3, but do not need a stroller for multiples, however, I have learned a few things over the years. I knew this time I wanted a "jogging" stroller, not because I am a jogger, but I like that the wheels can handle grassy terrain or sand at the beach. But I also wanted a swivel wheel in the front for easy maneuvering at the mall and such. I also wanted little comforts like a drink holder for me and a tray that the tot can use too. (tot=1 year)

*I would also like to note that I did not check off bulky as a con on this stroller because most strollers are bulky and especially jogging strollers. This is a fact not a con.

Initial set up was EASY! The body of the stroller is made from aluminum so it is light and easy to push and maneuver.

Two things that I DO NOT LIKE:
1) The seat "cover" is not attached to the seat in any way. I am guessing this is so it can be washed, but some velcro to hold it in place would be nice. It is always getting "scrunched up" behind the tot.

2) The seat does not adjust to a full sitting position. So the tot gets a little frustrated trying to see what is around her.

If both of these issues were addressed the stroller would be PERFECT!

Good buy for the money but flawed
By Beach MomVerified Purchaser from Oxnard, CA on 11/21/2007
Pros:

Cons:
Cheapness of the canopy, Reclining difficult

Overall a good buy for the money. The best feature is the all-terrain wide wheels which are great for getting through shallow sand and trails. The handle is wide and comfortable for gripping and the features are easy to use with one exception: the reclining feature is annoyingly difficult to adjust.

Schwinn Free Wheel Sport Stroller
By Mrs. Folliard from Bend, OR on 12/27/2006

I love this stroller. It is light weight and easy to handle. It also appears to be sturdy (thus far)and easy to fold and transport. I can store things like blankets or hats in the basket below and offer snacks to my toddler on trips in a removable tray at his level. There is also a drink holder and storage compartment for me to put keys etc...

Great for jogging and the big wheels help with 4-wheel drive conditions.
